Bio

Nasso Chrysochou[0000-0002-0743-654X] holds a Bachelor of Architecture, from SCI-ARC, Los Angeles, USA and an architectural conservation certificate from ICCROM Rome. She also has a Masters in Architectural Conservation from York University, England. She also holds a PhD from the University of Cyprus, Department of History and Archaeology, on the subject of Venetian Monastic architecture in Cyprus.

She has been an Associate Professor of Architecture at Frederick University since 2008 where she teaches at both the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate program in the Conservation of Historic Buildings and Monuments. She also maintains a practise specializing in architectural conservation. She has been involved in numerous architectural studies, of documentation, and analysis and conservation of historic and ancient monuments in many cities and villages of Cyprus and Greece at the same time she is a member of multiple committees for the cultural heritage of Cyprus.

Her research interests are the ecclesiastical/ monastic architecture of Frankish-Venetian rule, Conservation and the study of traditional Cypriot architecture. She has participated in various research programs and has published numerous articles on these topics. She has authored (alone or with collaborators) six books. Two of her most important books concern the Venetian period Ecclesiastical architecture in Cyprus and Vernacular Cypriot architecture. She has also published 38 articles in Cypriot and foreign scientific journals.
