Bio

Jerónimo Chirivella Martorell holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Valencia (1990) and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Valencia (2005). With an extensive professional career in the fisheries and aquaculture sector (1992-2011) that has allowed him to develop organisational, training and leadership skills in national and international companies. Since 2006, he has been a lecturer at the Catholic University of
Valencia (UCV), having held academic management positions including the implementation of the Degree in Veterinary Medicine (2011-2015), the development of the master's programme in blue biotechnology through the project ‘A Blue Biotechnology Master for a Blue Career (EASME, 2017-2018)’ and its subsequent implementation and direction at the UCV (2019-2022), and with special emphasis on the Erasmus Mundus joint master's degree in marine biotechnology (2022-), as chair of the program board, being active participant in the student selection, academic managementand coordinatig research related courses as Academice Research Integration and Master Thesis. His research activity has been closely linked to the R+D+i of aquaculture companies and the Public Administration in this field.
Since his academic involvement in the Masters in Marine Biotechnology, he has focused his research activity on the application of biotechnological tools to improve the production of aquatic organisms, especially microalgae as well as their applications to the agri-food sector.
