Bio

Mr. Ioannis Dimitrakopoulos holds the position of Special Teaching Staff and serves as the Head of Nursing Labs and Simulation at Frederick University, where he also acts as the Program Coordinator for the Paramedic - Ambulance Crew program. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the field of Emergency/Prehospital and Trauma Care, he brings a decade of extensive experience in clinical, medical, and nursing simulation, as well as laboratory teaching. Mr. Dimitrakopoulos earned his honors degrees in General Nursing (BSc) and Community Health Care (MSc with specialization in Family Health Care) from Frederick University Cyprus. He gained clinical experience in Intensive/Medical and Surgical Care at a private hospital in Nicosia. Beyond his academic endeavors, he actively coordinates and participates in scientific conferences and events for the Nursing Department, collaborating with institutions such as the Ministry of Health and State Ambulance Services. Mr. Dimitrakopoulos's notable accomplishments include receiving an international scholarship for the INSPPIRE Research Program at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong in 2013 and representing Cyprus as a delegate at the Annual General Meeting of the European Association of Nursing Students in 2012. He also served as the Secretary of the Nicosia District Committee of the Cyprus Nursing and Midwives Association from 2016 to 2020 and is currently a member of the Community Nursing division within the same association. His research interests include Nursing, Clinical/Nursing/Medical Simulation, Patient Safety, Emergency/Prehospital and Trauma Care. Furthermore, Mr. Dimitrakopoulos has a number of publications and presentations in international journals, conferences, and scientific meetings.
