Bio
Georgeta Bordea is a Junior Professor in Computer Science at La Rochelle University, Laboratory in Computer Science, Image and Interaction (L3i). Her research is focused on Natural Language Processing with an interest in explainable knowledge extraction and representation for high-risk domains such as healthcare, finance, or the legal domain. She is a member of L3i since December 2022, working on automating the extraction, translation, and alignment of scientific terms across different domains and languages using Large Language Models. Previously, she was an EU project manager and a Marie Curie research fellow at the Bordeaux Population Health Research Center (BPH) and at the Laboratoire Bordelais de Recherche en Informatique (LaBRI) of the Université de Bordeaux. She obtained her PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Galway, Ireland, under the supervision of Dr. Paul Buitelaar with a thesis on taxonomy extraction for expert finding.
