Bio

Before settling in Cyprus in 2004, Carol Bailey held executive roles in Shell International, having built her career over 30 years living and working in Europe, Asia and the US.

With Cyprus as the home base, Carol and her husband subsequently spent several years sailing their 42’ yacht throughout the Mediterranean and then completing a 2 ½ year world circumnavigation.

Carol returned to professional life in 2015 as Director of the European Rim Policy & Investment Council (ERPIC), a Cyprus based non profit think tank with research programs on Energy, Rule of Law and Regional Security and at the same time, co-founded Near East Energy Associates (NEEAS) Ltd, providing consulting and advisory services to clients throughout the region and internationally on all aspects of the oil and gas value chains and East Med Hydrocarbons developments.

Committed to skills development, Carol established a training centre providing internationally accredited Oil & Gas, HSSE and professional management courses.

Joining the Department of Maritime Transport & Commerce at Frederick University in 2019, allows Carol to combine a love of the marine and maritime environment, exploring industry trends, sharing business experience, building knowledge and developing people.
