Dyal Connect
01/10/2018 - 31/12/2022
The Food Dynamics and Connected program (Dyal Connect), financed by the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, aims to understand the links between digital devices and the purchase of local food products. Given the rapid development of digital devices in food retailing and the rise of major national and international players, the competitiveness of local production from small and medium-scale players on multiple channels is an important issue.
With a view to research intervention, the two researchers behind the program, Aurélia Michaud-Trévinal and Catherine Hérault-Fournier (IUT TC - La Rochelle University) have built up the research project by comparing the research issues linked to online shopping and the purchase of local food products, with the problems encountered by local producers' advisors. The results will enable local players to better understand the conditions for digitizing their access to markets, and the risk of being marginalized by the major digital players in the food system.
The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the Charente-Maritime departmen,t and the 17-79 Chamber of agriculture are key partners supporting this research.
